In a warm Sunday in March RoAriel organised a farewell brunch for Mulan and her man whom were leaving for Japan, large group of friends joint to say their goodbyes.
In was just days after Japan's Earthquake, no one wants to see her go, understanding she is very happy with her boyfriend and look forward to the job that is waiting for her, but all the aftershocks and nuclear threats were scaring the bitches to their core about Mulan. We know she is strong willed, and there was not much to talk her out of it, but somewhere in the back of the bitches head, no matter how strong ones mind is, a building can still crush her into many smaller pieces, or strong mind can not bend nuclear radiation, they can just kill with no discrimination. As bitches in their late 20s they are lucky enough not having to know anyone from the same age group passed away; no one is ready to see that.
Yes, life and death can separate people, but one day we will all be gone. It is true that Mulan may be killed by a horrible radiation disaster but its not like the other bitches were never be at risk of being ran over by a bus in a perfect sunny day? We live our lives with good level of caution and keep our eyes open for news and compare notes with other sources of information. That's pretty much what we can do, we may stay in a life that is simple and feel perfect on the text book but some may want to adventure out and try and take chances and there may be something more to see and experience; even if the adventures are disappointing, one can still be contained and satisfied because she would never need to ask herself "What If?"
Perhaps Mulan adventured back to Never-EverLand after living in Japan in the early 2000s because if she never tried out a career in her homeland, she might not felt she tried every way she could. And it turned out there were moderate success but not as satisfying, knowing her chances to achieve more is better and the culture fits her better in Japan, she decided to leave. And yet over the 7 years she made friends like Wicked, Caurora, RoAriel and John-asmine; sometime, life give you something else when you expects differs. But was it a bad thing? Meeting the bitches, certainly was not a bad thing for Mulan.
On the way to Mulan's farewell Chrisyero ask Wicked for a long awaited respond - does she want to live with him permanently? After the long trip in Europe and a very good celebration of their 2nd anniversary Chrisyero could not waited for any longer. And there was a good reason Wicked kept him waiting - because after the long trip in Europe and the good anniversary, she still wanted to say no. But knowing he couldn't wait for respond any longer, and she couldn't think of a way to convince herself to say yes, she answered no.
During the farewell brunch Chrisyero hardly spoke a word, everyone knew something was not going right. RoAriel suggested the group to go to a bar and extend their farewell to Mulan a bit more, Wicked was the first to say yes, because knowing something heavy is going to take place for her relationship it when she got home, she wanted to delay for as long as she possibly could.
The Talk, that's what people name the conversation people had where big turning point of a relationship take place; Wicked and Chrisyero had quite a few during the 2 years, about their friends, money, goals; trying to find a way to make space for each other and compromise to "make it work". This talk was different, no one can recall what was exactly said but it was intense.
Wicked remembered bits and pieces, Chrisyero told her he could not go on any more if they are not living together, and a few other things that implied how much he wanted Wicked to live with him. There were so many moments during this Talk Wicked can say something and find a way to comprise and convince him that it can still go on and to convince herself that she can live with him. But she stopped, she was exhausted, exhausted for the fact that they both tried their best and he had been the best boyfriend she ever had and the love was strong. But they were looking for different things: he wants to settle down and she wants to venture her career and see the world; he wanted share space to operate as one but she wants to be 2 fully functioning independent individuals being together on a mental level. They were in different point in time of their timeline and mindset. They love each other, but she realise they don't belong together, and seemed like their relationship already ran its course way before this Talk, and they had a good anniversary as an encore.
That night, Wicked lost a best friend and a boyfriend.
It wasn't life and death; and she knew she tried her best, but Wicked still feel dead from the inside.
