Ghost again.
Last night I watched a documentary about Asian Horror film on Discovery channel, It was pretty educating and pointed out a major difference between Asian horror and hollywood horror is that the male character is usually the hero and never got victimised; and unfortunately, the female characters are still the victims, only difference is that the Asian female will then break out from the old stereotype of the recessive victim and return as a ghost with vegenance, using their grive from her past life and seek revenge in the most violent and horrifying way.
Before everyone logging off I better get to my point: The serious effect of horror movies is the reflection of existing issues in our society, and guess what, not many GLBT characters are actually involved in horror movies neither Asian nor Hollywood (I don't know much about Bollywood, so I better skip for comment). Is Gay pride powerful enough to fight off any ghost or had the Gay issues been abandon and waiting for the moment to come back with vegenance, like the female ghost in Asian horror film?
What is a ghost by the way, it is usually a haunting memory of a person, perhaps that is areason that most of these horror movies protrays heartbroken straight relationships. So where is a gay relationship standing by the way, is it because there is no heart warming memories to begin with? or was it a political issue behind? And if it really is a political issue after all, should the gay men start to change and have relationship that can give you cherishable/hauntable memories, so we will receive the same amount of respect by the media?
I want to be optimistic, so i'd say: I'm what I am and I'll become my own gay ghost! (is it a good thing or i'm just fucking myself up?)
