Wicked had a rebound date, a nice afternoon that she enjoyed, it was great to relax after breaking with the intelligent man, also a good thing before she start her new "in-between" job. The only issue is his possessive character - he was expecting Wicked to have long SMS ping-pong with him, he used guilt and passive aggressive to get Wicked to prolong a conversation with him, which he obviously didn't know it would not work on Wicked. Perhaps if it is someone that she really liked, she would enjoy the SMS ping-pong, but for Wicked who's struggling with her new job and connecting to an industry that she is plotting her return of, her career is her priority.
After only 1 date, his expectation far exceeded how much they knew of each other for; although there is no fixed ratio between how much one likes a person to how much one should be in touch of; but Wicked live by her standard, with someone she barely know, such expectation is simply an overkill. They don't know each other well enough and there was not enough time for him to learn that Wicked is already juggling too many items, but considering time is what she can not give him, she decided there's no point to see him again.
Just before Wicked ruled out this man she realised if he don't know her, she don't know him neither, she obviously don't like his bad taste on television. But she asked herself, if there is someone she like a lot, she may do the same thing he was doing to her. So she took his action as compliment, but career is her focus at this point in time.
Her career is hanging on a knife's edge, one wrong move, one wrong word or one wrong timing her career may die on spot. She splotted her career since her teenage years and she carried on regardless of disapproval or any forces against her. She survived failure and bounced back, she got a tiny bit closer to her goal each day, the only catch is, the more she put together the more she's at stake. So she questioned why would she give up time for career for a man whom she just met.
Suddenly it dawn on Wicked why willingness had been missed between her and the intelligent man. She has a niche career; she has friends that she care; she has family that she hate to love - is there any space for passion? She is barely having enough time for fitness routine or a hobby. But she still made as much time she could hade for the intelligent man. The rebound man was a twist of fate that shown Wicked how much a relationship-ready person is willing to give.
The break between Wicked and the intelligent man was that both of them were not willing to put their hearts on the table; no matter what the reason is for him, Wicked knew her's, time was not her excuse because time is equal for everyone. However, she knew she is putting too much on the table for career, friend and family. Her heart was the only chip that remains outside the betting table, career can end, friends can grow apart, family can die; she is still betting heavily for those and she is already betting too much.
Suddenly her pain had ease about the break between her and the intelligent man, she said she was unable to give; she finally understand after meeting the rebound man. Betting on this table of passion, she is either all-in or not in.
